My shaggy boys display their jack-o-lanterns. (No haircuts for either of them since July so they could have crazy Thing hair (see below). They got haircuts the day after Halloween!)
My dad & my mischievous things
This may be my last chance to get the boys to do cutesy, matching costumes. As it is, Liam (who chose to be Thing 2, maybe because 2 is more than 1) told me a few days before Halloween that he wanted to be a shark instead. No deal. Too late. Maybe next year. (Actually, a shark and a pirate would be cute together...)
At the beginning of September, I was perusing Etsy, looking for costume ideas and saw several Thing 1 & Thing 2 costumes. I bought matching red turtlenecks, found red sweats at a consignment shop (difficult to find for boys!), ironed the numbers & letters onto felt and loosely sewed the patches onto the shirts. After Halloween, I removed the patches and added the shirts & sweats into their normal wardrobe. Woohoo!

Liam loved his spiky hair (colored gel)
The boys made a pretty decent haul just going through part of my parents neighborhood. After they went to bed, I dumped everything in a pile, took out suckers (except a few tootsiepops for Liam), all hard candy, and Smarties (because they're pure sugar & bound to end up all over the floor). I put an equal number of treats in each boy's bucket, with anything containing nuts going in Liam's. They've been getting one or two treats per day, after meals, and...I think we'll be done by Thanksgiving. There are just a few left in each bucket.

I can't believe how similar your boys look!
